Hello my dears. So as you may know, I am slightly nerdy. Also, as this may or may not be normal, I have one of two reactions to stress. I either A) Begin to work harder and harder or B) I get super strange and cooky. As this school year is drawing to a close I am leaning toward the second, more fun sounding option. (I am blaming stress)
Ever heard the word "LARP"? It stands for Live Action Role Play. It is a really nerdy pass time for people who like to dress up and hit each other with swords. It is basically pretend for grown ups. Recently I have become very interested in the sport. It started one day when I just wanted to dress up as a wood elf... Since then I have been doing a lot of research on the topic. Turns out the majority of LARPers are smart professional people in real life. People like doctors, college professors and military men/women. I have also learned that LARP is highly recommended by therapists to help with issues such as anxiety. In light of that information, who wouldn't want to dress up, pretend to live in a different world and hit their friends with fake swords???
Well, I shared my new desire with my parents and they just think that I am lame. This was a really harsh blow because my parents' approval is really important. My pastor and my boyfriend and my journalism teacher and also the speech teacher here who is my friend all think it sounds cool though. That encourages me a little bit. I have created a character, her name is Luthein. She is the ilegitimate child of a wood elf and a dark fairy. She was raised by her elven mother and her step father, the elf king's huntsman. She is good in the woods, but has terrible eyesight. (That part is because I can't wear glasses as an elf, it would ruin the whole look.) Her weapons of choice are (In this order) daggers/swords and bow/arrows. She wants to serve the king in his army but it is hard for her to gain the trust of the elves due to her heritage as the dark fairies are enemies with the wood elves. She never met her real father. Sometimes when she is upset she uncontrollably casts dark spells on those around her. Also she is quiet and thoughtful. Not very smily. Wears lots of green and brown but not blue.
That is my character. She is cool. Well that is all for now. Please don't hate my nerdiness. I totally pretended I was an astronaut during second period because I was wearing my friend's motorcycle helmet. Before that I went a little wild with the eyeliner, I have three colors on today. (Purple, green and blue.) Yeah, anyway. Have a great day.
