Important Poetry Question

Good um....Morning my dears. Before I begin talking, my friend the Smurf wants to be on my blog post (His head is telling him that it had been too long I guess.) So

Special Shout-out To The Smurf who apparently cut all of the blue hair off which makes him a betrayer of the name....

Now. We can proceed. Yesterday was Wednesday. We went to church, that was cool. Pastor talked to me, and guys I love my pastor. He is so amazing. He asked about school and all I could do was grunt. Mom told him that I am super stressed out. He naturally wanted to know why, so naturally I told him. Because he is a kind and caring pastor that shepherds the sheep. Anyway, he heard my weights and prayed over me. I thought that was like the nicest thing ever. Today I am a lot less stressed which is nice. My freshman friend and I are reading through the book of Ruth. She chose it. She needs Jesus. She says that she listens to our Bible reading but doesn't believe. I think God will use this. I will be patient. I also seem to be making a friend (finally) that is my age. Remember #8 the soccer player? (The cute one...) yeah, well this is going to sound childish but he even spoke to me today. LOL. Usually we just text from across the room, but someone took his seat because we got a new kid in class so he had to sit next to me. (Darn.) <Sarcasm BTW>
I lost my train of thought. (Had a small conversation with Yzzie about the song I am listening to.)
{What song are you listening to?}
I am so glad that you asked. I stumbled upon this song from the sixties the other day. Here guys, it's super chill and sweet.
I have been listening to a lot of sixties type music this week. Like on the bus home from the soccer game, I was too tense for the normal pop/rock that I rock out to. So I went to the soft easy going sixties and Billy Joel. (I love me some Billy Joel.) Right now I am swaying to Stand By Me. Also a great song.
Here is a question for you guys: What kind of music do you listen to in your free time? Do you listen to different genres when you are doing different activities?

Moving on to a MORE IMPORTANT QUESTION.

There is a poetry competition this month that I am entering in. What do you want my entry poem to be about? Post your ideas in the comments because uh...I am short on ideas and I want to appeal to my audience. I think what I will do is I will write a poem for every suggestion and then we can vote for the best one.

Thanks guys! I am going now. Have a good day. Last day to post a suggestion is March 10. 👍👍

How To Write a Limerick

Good morning, People! How was your sleep? Mine was alright. In my dream, my buddy Flash found my lost Starbucks gift card. He was like SWEEET until I told him it was mine. Then he looked a bit bummed. I (seeing this sad face and not particularly liking it) decided to make a deal. "Tell you what. You can keep the card if you promise to get coffee with me." "You do not have control over that stuff." He took my card and walked away. Fereal? Who does that??? LOL. Fortunately it was just a dream. I still have my half spent gift card. Now that we have talked just a bit, it is time to get serious. We are going to write a Limerick. {What in tar nation is a Limerick?}Hold your horses, I am about to explain. A Limerick is a form of poem following an A-A-B-B-A pattern. This means that lines 1,2,and 5 rhyme and lines 3, and 4 also rhyme. The lines labeled "A" are longer than the others and have the same rhythm. I will try to write a Limerick right now. (I literally...

Decorate a Leader Night

Hello. Today is Thursday. I wasn't sure what to write about to be honest. The past twelve hours have been a bit like an emotional rollercoaster. I would rather not discuss it right now.  So instead, I decided to talk about poetry. I don't really want to do that though. My brain is a bit mushy. However! I did find this sonnet by Shakespeare. I really like the last line in the sonnet. It just stands out in sharp contrast. I must show you. Here you go, Sonnet 65 by Shakespeare. Sonnet 65 Since brass, nor stone, nor earth, nor boundless sea But sad mortality o’er-sways their power, How with this rage shall beauty hold a plea, Whose action is no stronger than a flower? O, how shall summer’s honey breath hold out Against the wrackful siege of batt’ring days, When rocks impregnable are not so stout, Nor gates of steel so strong, but time decays? O fearful meditation! where, alack, Shall time’s best jewel from time’s chest lie hid? Or what strong hand can hol...

Lonely in the Crowd

At the sight of a title like that, you may be feeling...idk a little shocked, a little curious, maybe confused.  That is just the title of my poem that I wrote yesterday.  It has been long inspired, but had cooled down for a while. (I only write good poems if I am feeling the displayed emotion) Saturday afternoon I was either completely ignored by a guy I was trying to speak to or just unheard.  Either way, it happens a lot and brought back that same lonely emotion that inspired the poem. I was admittedly a bit angry because I hate being ignored, but I was also like,  "Ooh, now I can write that poem." I wrote it after church yesterday.  Here it is. Lonely in the Crowd Like an unseen mime In the unseen box I stand here, Invisible, lost. Unseen by those around Here I am Lonely in the crowd. All around are smiling faces That do not see I'm in the darkest of places. Can you not see me? Here I am Lonely in the crowd. Not for lack of...
